{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-118.631","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 118.631","heading":"Certification of results of preference primary.","body":"Upon completion of the official canvass of the results of the primary by the State Board\nof Elections, the Secretary of State shall certify to the state chairman of each political\nparty participating in the presidential preference primary the following:\n(1) The names of the candidates entitled to delegate votes under provisions of KRS\n118.641;\n(2) The total vote received by each;\n(3) A declaration that the results of the presidential preference primary, in accordance\nwith the division of votes reflected by the official canvass, shall be the official vote\ncast by each political party at its national convention, on the first ballot only, and\nshall be designated by KRS 118.555 to 118.651 as an automatic vote, expressing\nthe will of the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and\n(4) After the vote on the first ballot by the political party at its national convention, as\nrequired by this section, all responsibility under KRS 118.555 to 118.651 shall\nterminate and further balloting shall be the prerogative of the political parties as\nmight be prescribed by the rules of such political parties.","path":["KRS Chapter 118"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57008","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:16Z","sha256":"0598431864684ad14691923a20f2b6e88fb07629d320984ca1fe929edab253e2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-118.630","next":"us-ky/krs-118.640"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
