{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-118a.065","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 118A.065","heading":"Disclosure of political party affiliation of candidate for nonpartisan","body":"judicial office.\n(1) A candidate for judicial office may publicly disclose his or her political party\naffiliation, including but not limited to:\n(a) Identifying himself or herself as a member of a political party;\n(b) Stating current voter registration status or past or current party affiliation; and\n(c) Communicating political values or viewpoints consistent with his or her party\naffiliation.\n(2) A candidate for judicial office shall not:\n(a) Claim to be the official nominee of a political party for judicial office;\n(b) Use language or materials that imply nomination, designation, or endorsement\nby a political party; or\n(c) Use party symbols, slogans, or imagery in a manne r that would mislead a\nreasonable person to believe the candidate is running in a partisan election or\nwas selected by a political party to represent it.\n(3) This section shall not be construed to authorize partisan elections for judicial office\nor to permit political party nomination, designation, or ballot labeling of candidates\nfor judicial office.","path":["KRS Chapter 118A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58062","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:16Z","sha256":"fd477567aeb180af89715ea25e8c6bfd90eb51d5a073fdb0a1b1e14658dcc7f0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-118a.060","next":"us-ky/krs-118a.070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
