{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-118a.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 118A.080","heading":"Denial of right to have name placed on ballot -- Restoration --","body":"Ineligibility of Senior Status Special Judge.\n(1) No person who was a candidate for nomination for any office of the Court of Justice\nin a primary and who, before the succeeding regular election, is declared by the final\njudgment of any court of competent jurisdiction to have violated, in the primary,\nany provision of KRS Chapter 121, or to be responsible for such violation by others,\nshall have his or her name placed on the ballot for any office to be voted for in the\nsucceeding regular election. However, if such judgment is subsequently reversed\nprior to the time of printing of the ballots, the candidate's name shall be restored on\nthe ballot.\n(2) A judge who elected to retire as a Sen ior Status Special Judge in accordance with\nKRS 21.580 shall not become a candidate or a nominee for any elected office\nduring the five (5) year term prescribed in KRS 21.580(1)(a)1., regardless of the\nnumber of days served by the judge acting as a Senior Status Special Judge.","path":["KRS Chapter 118A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42257","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:16Z","sha256":"f633df92b95a81a22221f38a8db22e3acc504617c449b41e9db902a10782900c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-118a.070","next":"us-ky/krs-118a.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
