{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-11a.216","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 11A.216","heading":"Statements of expenditures.","body":"(1) Each executive agency lobbyist, employer, and real party in interest shall file with\nthe commission, with the updated registration statement required by KRS\n11A.211(2), a statement of expenditures as specified in subsections (2) and (3) of\nthis section. An  executive agency lobbyist shall file a separate statement of\nexpenditures under this section for each employer engaging him.\n(2) (a) In addition to the information required by paragraph (b) of this subsection, a\nstatement filed by an executive agency lobbyist shall show the total amount of\nexpenditures made by the lobbyist during the reporting period covered by the\nstatement by the executive agency lobbyist.\n(b) 1. If, during a fiscal year, the real party in interest, the employer or any\nexecutive agency lobbyist he engaged made expenditures to or on behalf\nof a particular elected executive official, the secretary of a cabinet listed\nin KRS 12.250, a particular executive agency official, or a particular\nmember of the staff of any of those officials, the rea l party in interest,\nemployer, or executive agency lobbyist also shall state the name of the\nofficial or employee on whose behalf the expenditures were made, the\ntotal amount of the expenditures made, a brief description of the\nexpenditures made, and the a pproximate date the expenditures were\nmade.\n2. Expenditures shall be reported on the expenditure statement for the\nreporting period that includes the date on which the expenditure was\nmade.\n(3) (a) In addition to the information required by subsection (2)( b) of this section, a\nstatement filed by a real party in interest or an employer shall show the total\namount of expenditures during the period covered by the statement. As used\nin this subsection, \"expenditures\" does not include the expenses of\nmaintaining office facilities or support services for executive agency lobbyists.\n(b) An employer or real party in interest shall not be required to show any\nexpenditure on a statement filed under this subsection if the expenditure is\nreported on a statement filed un der subsection (2)(a) or (b) of this section by\nan executive agency lobbyist engaged by the employer.\n(4) Any statement required to be filed under this section shall be filed at the times\nspecified in KRS 11A.211. Each statement shall cover expenditures ma de during\nthe prior fiscal year.\n(5) If it is impractical or impossible for an executive agency lobbyist, employer, or real\nparty in interest to determine exact dollar amounts or values of expenditures,\nreporting of good faith estimates, based on reasonabl e accounting procedures,\nconstitutes compliance with this section.\n(6) Executive agency lobbyists, employers, and real parties in interest shall retain\nreceipts or maintain records for all expenditures that are required to be reported\npursuant to this sect ion. These receipts or records shall be maintained for a period\nending on the thirtieth day of June of the second fiscal year after the year in which\nthe expenditure was made.\n(7) At least ten (10) days before the date on which the statement is filed, each\nemployer, executive agency lobbyist, or real party in interest who is required to file\nan expenditure statement under subsection (2)(b) of this section shall deliver a copy\nof the statement, or the portion showing the expenditure, to the official or emplo yee\nwho is listed in the statement as having received the expenditure or on whose behalf\nit was made.","path":["KRS Chapter 11A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=609","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:28Z","sha256":"69e3343bf7b622cfa2fe5c8a3f283c2833efa7f7b82fc8657ae7733fdf96ad57","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-11a.211","next":"us-ky/krs-11a.221"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
