{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-11a.231","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 11A.231","heading":"Activities excepted from KRS 11A.211 and 11A.216.","body":"(1) KRS 11A.211 and 11A.216 do not apply to efforts to influence executive agency\ndecisions or conduct executive agency lobbying activity by any of the following:\n(a) Appearances at public hearings of the committees or interim committees of\nthe General Assembl y, at court proceedings, at rule -making or adjudication\nproceedings, or at other public meetings;\n(b) News, editorial, and advertising statements published in newspapers, journals,\nor magazines, or broadcast over radio or television;\n(c) The gathering and furnishing of information and news by bona fide reporters,\ncorrespondents, or news bureaus to news media described in subsection (1)(b)\nof this section; or\n(d) Publications primarily designed for and distributed to members of associations\nor charitable or fraternal nonprofit corporations.\n(2) Nothing in KRS 11A.201 to 11A.246 requires the reporting of, or prohibits an\nelected executive official from soliciting or accepting, a contribution from or an\nexpenditure by any person if the contribution or expenditu re is reported in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 121.","path":["KRS Chapter 11A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=612","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:28Z","sha256":"eb3728524a6d0690e1330ca6bf55c3e79302279c5d9c05a13c21cb5e889bb9d7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-11a.226","next":"us-ky/krs-11a.233"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
