{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-12.355","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 12.355","heading":"Renewal of professional license or certification held by active duty member","body":"of Armed Forces.\n(1) Notwithstanding any other statute to the contrary, any member of the Armed Forces\nof the United States on active duty who, at the time of activation, was:\n(a) A member in good standing with any administrative body of the state; and\n(b) Duly licensed or certified to engage in his or her profession or vocation in the\nCommonwealth;\nshall be kept in good standing by the administrative body with which he or she is\nlicensed or certified.\n(2) While a licensee or certificate holder is an active duty member of the Armed Forces\nof the United States, the license or certificate referenced in subsection (1) of this\nsection shall be renewed without:\n(a) The payment of dues or fees;\n(b) Obtaining continuing education credits when:\n1. Circumstances associated with military duty prevent obtaining training\nand a waiver request has been submitted to the appropriate\nadministrative body; or\n2. The active duty military member perf orms the licensed or certified\noccupation as part of his or her military duties as annotated in Defense\nDepartment form 214 (DD 214); or\n(c) Performing any other act typically required for the renewal of the license or\ncertificate.\n(3) The license or certi ficate issued under this section shall be continued as long as the\nlicensee or certificate holder is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States\non active duty and for a period of at least six (6) months after discharge from active\nduty.","path":["KRS Chapter 12"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39918","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:29Z","sha256":"a71abcb6cb38d4d831d70d1cd8fabd2a4fd7b474021553a2dd1807c695ad7d53","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-12.354","next":"us-ky/krs-12.357"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
