{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-12.357","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 12.357","heading":"Issuance of temporary or regular license or certificate to spouse of active","body":"duty member of Armed Forces.\n(1) Notwithstanding any other statute to the contrary, an administrative body shall\nissue, without requiring the payment of dues or fees, a temporary or regular license\nor certificate within thirty (30) days to the spouse of a current member of the Armed\nForces of the United States if the spouse of the service member meets the statutory\nrequirements of the administrative body and applies to the administrative body in a\nformat promulgated in administrative regulation by the administrative body.\n(2) An application for temporary or regular licensure of the spouse of a current member\nof the Armed Forces of the United States shall include but not be limited to the\nfollowing:\n(a) Proof that the applicant is married to a current member of the Armed Forces\nof the United States;\n(b) Proof that the applicant holds a valid license or certificate for the profession\nissued by another state, the District of Columbia, or any possession or territory\nof the United States; and\n(c) Proof that the applicant's spouse is assigned to a duty station in this state.\n(3) A temporary license issued pursuant to this section shall expire six (6) months after\nthe date of issuance and is not renewable.\n(4) (a) Notwithstanding any other statute to the contrary, except as provided in\nparagraph (b) of this subsection, an administrative body shall initially issue or\nrenew any regular occupational license to the spouse of a current  member of\nthe Armed Forces of the United States if:\n1. The spouse meets the statutory requirements for initial issuance or\nrenewal of the occupational license by the administrative body;\n2. The spouse applies for the initial issuance or renewal of the occupational\nlicense to the administrative body in a format promulgated in\nadministrative regulation by the administrative body; and\n3. The spouse's application for the initial issuance or renewal of the\noccupational license is submitted to the administrative  body before the\nregular application deadline for the original license or renewal.\n(b) An administrative body that requires payment of dues or fees for the\nsubmission of an electronic application for an occupational license shall,\nwithin thirty (30) days, refund the dues or fees paid by a spouse of a current\nmember of the Armed Forces of the United States if the provisions of\nparagraph (a) of this subsection are met.","path":["KRS Chapter 12"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52769","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:29Z","sha256":"72f333893d0ab498b893b61745e9f8a73506f4914987f5632b96e627fa435828","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-12.355","next":"us-ky/krs-12.400"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
