{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-121.330","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 121.330","heading":"Restrictions on elected officials and their appointees in dealing with","body":"certain contributors and fundraisers.\n(1) No elected official or any of his appointees shall knowingly award any nonbid\ncontract with the governing authority which the elected offi cial serves to any entity\nwhose officers or employees, or the spouses of officers or employees, knowingly\ncontributed in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000) in the aggregate in any one\n(1) election to the election campaign of the elected official duri ng the term of office\nfollowing the election campaign in which the contributions were made.\n(2) No entity whose officers or employees, or the spouses of officers or employees,\nhave knowingly contributed in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000) in the\naggregate in any one (1) election to the election campaign of any elected official\nshall knowingly receive any nonbid contract with the governing authority which the\nelected official serves during the term of office following the election campaign in\nwhich the contributions were made.\n(3) No elected official or any of his appointees shall knowingly award any nonbid\ncontract, lease, or appointment to any office or board with the governing authority\nwhich the elected official serves to any person who has acted as a fundraiser by\ndirectly soliciting contributions to the election campaign  of the elected official who\nsecured in excess of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) in contributions in the\naggregate in any one (1) election for the election campaign, or to his  immediate\nfamily, employer, or employee, during the term of office following the election\ncampaign in which the contributions were made, nor shall any award of a nonbid\ncontract or lease with the governing authority knowingly be made to the entity in\nwhich the person has an interest during the term of office following the election\ncampaign in which the contributions were made.\n(4) No person who has acted as a fundraiser by directly soliciting contributions for the\nelection campaign of an elected official w ho secured in excess of thirty thousand\ndollars ($30,000) in contributions in the aggregate in any one (1) election for the\nelection campaign, nor his immediate family, employer, or employee, shall\nknowingly receive any nonbid contract, lease, or appointment to any office or board\nwith the governing authority which the elected official serves during the term of\noffice following the election campaign in which the contributions were made, nor\nshall an entity in which the person has an interest knowingly recei ve a nonbid\ncontract or lease with the governing authority during the term of office following\nthe election campaign in which the contributions were made.\n(5) For the purposes of this section, \"entity\" means any person, sole proprietorship,\npartnership, un incorporated association, unincorporated company, joint stock\ncompany, public service corporation, professional services corporation, corporation,\nor any other business organization.\n(6) For the purposes of this section, \"immediate family\" means the spouse  of the\nperson, the parent of the person or spouse, or the child of the person or spouse.\n(7) For the purposes of this section, \"governing authority\" means the elected legislative,\nexecutive, and judicial officers charged with the administration of the aff airs of the\npolitical subdivision which they serve.","path":["KRS Chapter 121"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=27877","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:19Z","sha256":"c8e4db5c4be4918b485722c3281300721553d3e06c66b2b26b6108e25d9ada5e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-121.320","next":"us-ky/krs-121.990"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
