{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-131.083","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 131.083","heading":"Division of Taxpayer Ombudsman -- Duties -- Annual reports.","body":"The department shall provide the services of a Division of Taxpayer Ombudsman to carry\nout the spirit and specific purposes of KRS 131.041 to 131.081. The division shall:\n(1) Coordinate the resolution of taxpayer complaints and problems, if so requested by  a\ntaxpayer or the taxpayer's representative;\n(2) Provide recommendations to the department for new or revised informational\npublications and recommend taxpayer and department employee education\nprograms needed to reduce or eliminate errors or improve volu ntary taxpayer\ncompliance;\n(3) Provide recommendations to the department for simplification or other\nimprovements needed in tax laws, regulations, forms, systems, and procedures to\npromote better understanding and voluntary compliance by taxpayers; and\n(4) At least annually, on or before October 1, prepare and submit a report to the\ncommissioner of the Department of Revenue summarizing the activities of the\ndivision during the immediately preceding fiscal year, describing any\nrecommendations made pursuant t o subsections (2) and (3) of this section,\nincluding the progress in implementing such recommendations, and providing such\nother information as the division deems appropriate relating to the rights of\nKentucky taxpayers.","path":["KRS Chapter 131"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45185","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:21Z","sha256":"d47696248870a7c1a0c3a6c6fb0e5afc5992a64949e8d7ae1002dda213ba359b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-131.081","next":"us-ky/krs-131.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
