{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-131.674","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 131.674","heading":"Financial institutions to provide department with identifying information","body":"on delinquent taxpayers and debtors with account -- Fee for conducting data\nmatches -- Confidentiality of information -- Limitation on liability.\n(1) Financial institutions doin g business in the Commonwealth shall provide\nidentifying information each calendar quarter to the department for each delinquent\ntaxpayer or debtor identified by the department that is indebted to the\nCommonwealth for delinquent taxes or debts and who main tains an account at the\ninstitution.\n(2) The financial institution shall be paid a fee for conducting data matches from the\ndelinquent taxpayer's account, not to exceed the actual cost.\n(3) Except for the exchange of information between the department and financial\ninstitutions necessary for the enforcement of KRS 131.670 to 131.676, any\ninformation obtained by the department from financial institutions shall be subject\nto confidentiality restrictions imposed on the department by KRS 131.190.\n(4) A financial institution shall not be liable for encumbering or surrendering any assets\nheld by the financial institution in response to a lien or notice of levy issued by the\ndepartment, or any other action taken in good faith to comply with the requirements\nof KRS 131.670 to 131.676.","path":["KRS Chapter 131"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=28193","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:23Z","sha256":"dcef082f297cdada0d163be78255248ebb6659a903d0e0e2b846925b03e6dad2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-131.672","next":"us-ky/krs-131.676"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
