{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-132.100","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 132.100","heading":"Referendum on act classifying property for taxation -- Petition.","body":"If the General Assembly enacts any act pursuant to Section 171 of the Constitution as\namended, classifying property and providing a lower rate of taxation on personal property\nthan on real property, the provisions of the act shall be subject to a referendu m upon the\nwritten petition of qualified voters equal to at least five percent (5%) of the votes cast in\nthe state for a slate of candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor at the last\npreceding regular election. The petition shall be filed with the Secretary of State not more\nthan four (4) months after the final adjournment of the General Assembly that passed the\nact on which the referendum is demanded, and shall specify the act or the item, section or\npart of the act on which the referendum is demand ed. The petition shall be uniform in\nsize and style and shall be assembled in one (1) instrument for filing. Each sheet of the\npetition shall contain the names of voters from one (1) voting precinct only, and shall\ninclude the name, number and designation of the precinct in which the voters signing the\npetition live. The inclusion of an invalid signature on a page shall not invalidate the entire\npage of the petition, but shall instead result in the invalid signature being stricken and not\ncounted.
