{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-132.110","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 132.110","heading":"Certification of petition for referendum -- Publication of act.","body":"(1) Within five (5) days after the filing of the petition for referendum, the Secretary of\nState shall transmit to the county judge/executive of each county in which\npetitioners reside the sheets containing the names of the petitioners of that county.\nThe coun ty judge/executive shall thereupon set a date not less than ten (10) nor\nmore than fifteen (15) days thereafter when interested persons may appear and\npresent proof as to the genuineness of signatures and the qualification of petitioners.\nAfter hearing proof, the county judge/executive shall determine the number of legal\nvoters of his county who have signed the petition, cause the same to be entered\nupon the order book and certify it to the Secretary of State.\n(2) Within thirty (30) days after receiving fro m the county judges/executive\ncertification that a number of legal voters constituting in the aggregate five percent\n(5%) of the vote of the entire state have signed a petition for referendum, the\nSecretary of State shall cause the proposed act or the part s thereof affected and the\nfact that the act will be submitted to the voters for their acceptance or rejection at\nthe next general election to be published pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.","path":["KRS Chapter 132"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=28224","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:23Z","sha256":"75b99618a07a6cf78e52d7148c531e4978d0027ae97c9bd52b970811d87f992c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-132.100","next":"us-ky/krs-132.120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
