{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-133.240","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 133.240","heading":"Compensation of county clerk for making tax bills -- Payment.","body":"(1) The county clerk shall be allowed thirty cents ($0.30) for calculating the state,\ncounty, and school tax and preparing a tax bill for each individual taxpayer for the\nsheriff or collector under the provisions of KRS 133.220, and one dollar ($1) for\neach tax bill made in case of an omitted assessment.\n(2) The county clerk shall present his account to the fiscal court, verified by his\naffidavit, together with his receipt from the sheriff for the tax bills and his receipt\nfrom the Department of Revenue for the  recapitulation sheets. If found correct, the\ncourt shall allow the account, and order one -half (1/2) of it paid out of the levy and\nthe other one-half (1/2) out of the State Treasury. The county clerk shall certify the\nallowance to the Finance and Adminis tration Cabinet, which shall draw a warrant\non the State Treasurer in favor of the county clerk for the state's one-half (1/2).\n(3) The above county allowance shall likewise be paid to the county clerk for\ncalculation of the state, county, city, consolidat ed local government, urban -county\ngovernment, school, and special district tax for each individual motor vehicle\ntaxpayer, based upon certification from the Department of Revenue of the number\nof accounts as of January 1 each year.","path":["KRS Chapter 133"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=28361","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:25Z","sha256":"d8cea9c33f4308ed0d4df8ec3bc0b32aad6048364d7f75c5a7d7595e5a1e9852","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-133.230","next":"us-ky/krs-133.250"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
