{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-136.565","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 136.565","heading":"Liability of corporate officers for taxes.","body":"Notwithstanding any other provisions of KRS 136.500 to 136.575, the president, vice\npresident, secretary, treasurer, or any other person holding any equivalent corporate office\nof any financial institution subject to the provisions of KRS 136.500 to 136.57 5 shall be\npersonally and individually liable jointly and severally, for the taxes under KRS 136.500\nto 136.575 in the event that the financial institution is unable to make payment. Neither\nthe corporate dissolution or withdrawal of the financial institut ion from the\nCommonwealth nor the cessation of holding any corporate office shall discharge the\nliability imposed by this section. The personal and individual liability shall apply to each\nand every person holding a corporate office at the time the taxes b ecome or became due.\nNo person will be personally and individually liable pursuant to this section if that person\ndid not have authority in the management of the business or financial affairs of the\nfinancial institution at the time the taxes imposed by KR S 136.500 to 136.575 become or\nbecame due. \"Taxes\" as used in this section includes interest accrued at the rate provided\nby KRS 131.010(6) and all applicable penalties and fees imposed under the provisions of\nKRS 136.500 to 136.575 and KRS 131.180, 131.440, and 131.990.","path":["KRS Chapter 136"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=28578","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:28Z","sha256":"5afead453448c40e125b434ffb875a2f016ac7022b8501890727cc6c0fa6297d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-136.560","next":"us-ky/krs-136.570"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
