{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-136.652","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 136.652","heading":"Distribution -- Administrative costs -- Monthly hold harmless amounts.","body":"Money in the gross revenues and excise tax fund shall be distributed monthly as follows:\n(1) One percent (1%) shall be deposited in a trust and agency account created in the\nState Treasury to be used by the department for administration costs associated with\nthe implementation, collection, and distribution of the tax imposed by KRS 136.604\nand 136.616.\n(2) After the distribution required under subsection (1) of this section, th e department\nshall distribute to each political subdivision, school district and special district the\napplicable monthly hold -harmless amount as calculated under KRS 136.650. In\naddition, the department shall distribute one -twelfth (1/12) of the sheriff\ndepartment's fixed hold-harmless amount as defined in KRS 136.650(2)(b). For tax\ncollections received in January and February of 2006, the department shall make\nthe distribution by April 25, 2006. For all other periods, the department shall make\ndistribution by the twenty -fifth day of the next calendar month following the tax\nreceipts.\n(3) After the distribution required by subsection (2) of this section, the department shall\ndeposit one million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,250,000) in the state\ngeneral fund. This amount shall be adjusted on a prospective basis after the\ncollection of the first twelve (12) months of tax receipts from the taxes imposed by\nKRS 136.604 and 136.616 to equal the average monthly tax receipts attributable to\nthe taxation of  satellite broadcast and wireless cable services under KRS 136.604\nand 136.616. The amount shall then become the fixed amount distributed to the\ngeneral fund.\n(4) Money remaining in the gross revenues and excise tax fund after the distribution\nrequired by subsection (3) of this section shall be transferred to the state baseline\nand local growth fund established in KRS 136.648.","path":["KRS Chapter 136"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=28609","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:28Z","sha256":"2f0628db839b7a3398efb3c1a5badb1a6c06ab833ece769cb3e3a8bde7cf9d29","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-136.650","next":"us-ky/krs-136.654"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
