(Effective until\nJanuary 1, 2027)\n(1) The Safe at Home Program is hereby established within the Office of the Secretary\nof State.\n(2) The Safe at Home Program shall be operated with the intent to protect victims of:\n(a) Domestic violence;\n(b) Human trafficking;\n(c) Stalking;\n(d) Sexual assault;\n(e) Rape; and\n(f) Other sexual crimes as defined by KRS 17.500.\n(3) The Safe at Home Program shall authorize the use of designated addresses for\nvictims, their minor children, and all other individuals residing with the victim.\n(4) The Safe at Home Prog ram shall be open to victims of a specified offense who are\nUnited States citizens and residents of Kentucky, without any cost to the program\nparticipant.\n(5) The Secretary of State shall require that each person employed in the Office of the\nSecretary of State directly responsible for the administration of the Safe at Home\nProgram submit his or her fingerprints to the Department of State. The Department\nof Stat e shall exchange fingerprint data with the Kentucky State Police and the\nFederal Bureau of Investigation in order to conduct a criminal history background\ncheck of each employee directly responsible for the administration of the program.\nEffective: June 29, 2023","path":["KRS Chapter 14"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54143","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:31Z","sha256":"db3856b4756e8ce99566bd6ced94875d873a2508611b10ab26ce72bb2889d831","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-14.300","next":"us-ky/krs-14.304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
