{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-142.318","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 142.318","heading":"Assessment on ground ambulance service providers.","body":"(1) A ground ambulance provider shall pay an assessment to the department in an\namount established by the Department for Medicaid Services under KRS 205.5602.\n(2) The payment of the assessment shall be made at the same time and in the same\nmanner as in KRS 142.323.\n(3) (a) In addition to any penalty assessed under KRS 131.180 and the interest\nassessed under KRS 131.183, the department, in coordination with the\nCabinet for Health and Family Services, may require a ground ambulance\nprovider that fails to pay an a ssessment required by this section to pay an\nadditional penalty to the department.\n(b) The department, in consultation with the Cabinet for Health and Family\nServices, may promulgate administrative regulations to establish the\nadditional penalty.\n(4) The assessment shall not be implemented until after the Department for Medicaid\nServices receives notice of federal matching funds approval from the Centers for\nMedicare and Medicaid Services.\n(5) All assessments and all penalties and fees related to those asse ssments shall be\ndeposited in the ambulance service assessment fund established in KRS 205.5603.\n(6) A ground ambulance provider shall not increase charges or add a surcharge to\nground transport fees based on, or as a result of, the assessment paid to the\ndepartment.","path":["KRS Chapter 142"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50422","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:36Z","sha256":"3a2c4a465ad0ed823f1592a34953233cc3f33a763af398b58cfd5eb34ee6ca3e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-142.317","next":"us-ky/krs-142.321"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
