{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-146.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 146.550","heading":"Definitions for KRS 146.550 to 146.570.","body":"As used in KRS 146.550 to 146.570:\n(1) \"Wetlands\" means land that has a predominance of hydric soils and is inundated or\nsaturated by surface or groundwater at a frequency and duration sufficient to\nsupport, and that under normal circumstances does support , a prevalence of\nhydrophytic vegetation typically adapted for life in saturated soil conditions;\n(2) \"Hydric soils\" means soils that, in their undrained condition, are saturated, flooded,\nor ponded long enough during the growing season to develop an anaer obic\ncondition that supports the growth and regeneration of hydrophytic vegetation;\n(3) \"Hydrophytic vegetation\" means a plant growing in water or a substrate that is at\nleast periodically deficient of oxygen during the growing season as a result of\nexcess water content;\n(4) \"Office\" means the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves; and\n(5) \"Cabinet\" means the Energy and Environment Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 146"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47559","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:38Z","sha256":"ebfecf6d4a1d6506ae0981873d6060c28b1104962e0b72e560a9462f9818f6de","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-146.535","next":"us-ky/krs-146.555"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
