{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-147a.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 147A.070","heading":"Appointment  of executive director -- Election of executive","body":"committee,  duties -- Advertisement  of open  positions -- Employees'\ncompensation.\n(1) Subject to the requirements of subsection (3) of this section, the board of\ndirectors in each district may  appoint an executive director and  deputy\nexecutive director and fix the salary for each position. The executive director\nshall perform, in the name  of the board, such functions and duties and may\nexercise such authority of the board as the board may  delegate to the\nexecutive director. The deputy executive director, if one is hired, shall perform\nsuch functions and duties as designated by the executive director.\n(2) The  board of directors in each district may  elect from its membership  an\nexecutive committee and delegate to the committee any of the following duties:\n(a) To employ such staff members  as may be required for the operations of\nthe district;\n(b) To manage the financial assets and obligations of the district;\n(c) To guide the activities of the district between meetings of the board; and\n(d) To perform such other duties as the board might delegate to it.\n(3) On  or after June 29, 2017, an open position for the executive director or deputy\nexecutive director with an area development district shall be advertised by the\nboard of directors in a manner designed to provide adequate notice of the\nopening and sufficient time for interested applicants to apply. Advertisement of\nan  open position shall, at a minimum, be published on the Web  site of the\ndistrict and published in accordance with KRS  Chapter 424 at a minimum for a\nperiod of twenty-one (21) days.\n(4) Bonuses,  awards,  one  (1) time  salary adjustments, special salary\nenhancements, or severance pay for any employee, unless severance pay is\nprovided pursuant to a contract approved by the board, that do not constitute a\npermanent  change in the employee's compensation shall not be made  or\nawarded to any employee of a district.","path":["KRS Chapter 147A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45810","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:39Z","sha256":"5e23b872152c0e6a660aaef4a85a8150246cf65ebc3ce445a93279632d5c13a7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-147a.060","next":"us-ky/krs-147a.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
