{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-147a.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 147A.090","heading":"Duties of board of directors.","body":"Each district board of directors shall have the power, duty, and authority to:\n(1) Establish such functional advisory committees as may be necessary and advisable.\nThese functional advisory committees shall be organized to meet such guidelines as\nmay be required for federal or state assistance;\n(2) Conduct the necessary research and studies and coordinate and cooperate with all\nappropriate groups and agencies in order to develop, and adopt and revise, when\nnecessary, a district development plan or series of  plans, including, but not limited\nto, the following districtwide plan elements: goals and objectives; water and sewer;\nland-use; and open space and recreation. Such plans shall serve as a general guide\nfor public and private actions and decisions to assure the development of public and\nprivate property in the most appropriate relationships;\n(3) Prepare annually a report of its activities to the cities and counties within the\ndistrict, the legislature, and the Governor. The board shall make copies of the re port\navailable to members of the public within the district;\n(4) Comply with the provisions of KRS 65A.010 to 65A.090;\n(5) Cooperate with the Kentucky Mountain Regional Recreation Authority established\nin KRS 148.0222 for the purpose of establishing, maint aining, and promoting\nrecreational trails to increase economic development, tourism, and outdoor\nrecreation for Kentucky's residents and visitors, not only in eastern Kentucky but\nthroughout the Commonwealth; and\n(6) Cooperate with the Kentucky Ohio River Regional Recreation Authority\nestablished in KRS 148.034 for the purpose of establishing, maintaining, and\npromoting recreational trails to increase economic development, tourism, and\noutdoor recreation for Kentucky's residents and visitors, not only along  the Ohio\nRiver but throughout the Commonwealth.","path":["KRS Chapter 147A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55128","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:39Z","sha256":"81d2205a8d19385b8d0ba96c88688cc0356d7d239fff2d4b05ee3d336ef9c312","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-147a.080","next":"us-ky/krs-147a.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
