{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-147a.152","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 147A.152","heading":"Definitions for KRS 147A.150 to 147A.166.","body":"As used in KRS 147A.150 to 147A.166:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Department for Local Government;\n(2) \"Eligible grant recipient\" means a grant applicant that is a public agency as defined\nin KRS 61.805 or nonprofit entity engaged in public benefit improvements to\npriority communities;\n(3) \"Eligible project\" means a public benefit project in a priority community or\nbenefiting a priority community with available matching funds that satisfies the\nevaluation criteria in KRS 147A.160 and that is initiated on:\n(a) Publicly owned property;\n(b) Property to be acquired, which comes with either a:\n1. Legally binding letter of intent or option for the sale to an eligible grant\nrecipient; or\n2. Sale agreement for the sale to an eligible grant recipient; or\n(c) Private property on which a project is located that is in the public interest and\nfor a public purpose and that benefits a priority community;\n(4) \"Eligible use\" means the authorized purpose for which an awarded grant may be\nused depending on the source of  funds from the Commonwealth. \"Eligible use\"\nmay include but is not limited to any of the categories in KRS 147A.160;\n(5) \"Interagency Working Group\" means the Interagency Working Group on Coal and\nPower Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization establ ished by Presidential\nExecutive Order 14008, issued on January 27, 2021;\n(6) \"Priority community\" means the areas impacted by concentrated, direct coal -related\njob losses from mine and power plant closures in recent years as designated by the\nInteragency Working Group; and\n(7) \"Regional project\" means an eligible project that is proposed by eligible grant\nrecipients residing in different counties in this Commonwealth who submit a single\ngrant application.","path":["KRS Chapter 147A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54191","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:39Z","sha256":"bbfef805e197b4a8d7b38a83a32d350c7989116353cad57c41d0455d8ad86879","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-147a.150","next":"us-ky/krs-147a.154"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
