{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-148.033","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 148.033","heading":"Definitions for KRS 148.033 to 148.039.","body":"As used in KRS 148.033 to 148.039, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Authority\" or \"KORRRA\" means the Kentucky Ohio River Regional Recreation\nAuthority established in KRS 148.034;\n(2) \"Board\" means the board of directors of KORRRA;\n(3) \"County\" means a county, charter county, urban -county government, unified local\ngovernment, or consolidated local government;\n(4) \"Land\" means roads, water, watercourses, buildings, structures, and machinery or\nequipment thereon when attached to the realty;\n(5) \"Landowner\" means a tenant, lessee, occupant, or person in control of the premises;\n(6) \"Participating county\" means a county that has qualified under KRS 148.034(5);\n(7) \"Participating landowner\" means a landowner who owns land in a participating\ncounty and has a contractual agreement with the KORRRA for trail development as\npart of the RA;\n(8) \"Recreational Area\" or \"RA\" means lands on which there is a system of recreational\ntrails, including streams, rivers, and other waterways, and appurtenant facilities,\nincluding trailhead centers, parking areas, camping facilities, picnic areas, historic\nor cultural interpretive sites, and other facilities in Kentucky and designated by the\nKORRRA as part of the RA;\n(9) \"Recreational purposes\" means all -terrain vehicle rid ing, bicycling, canoeing,\nhiking, horseback riding, hunting, kayaking, motorcycle riding, rock climbing,\nfishing, swimming, archaeological activities, nature study, off -highway vehicle\ndriving, pleasure driving, watersports, winter sports, visiting or view ing historical\nor scenic sites, and otherwise using land for purposes pertaining to recreation or\ntrail activities; and\n(10) \"Target county\" means Ballard, Boone, Boyd, Bracken, Breckinridge, Campbell,\nCarroll, Crittenden, Daviess, Gallatin, Greenup, Hancock, Hardin, Henderson,\nJefferson, Kenton, Lewis, Livingston, Mason, McCracken, Meade, Oldham,\nPendleton, Trimble, or Union County.","path":["KRS Chapter 148"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55123","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:40Z","sha256":"8c11d85d36bfc766ae10d59ad923adc7209270e743b5597438a92fc2615ce6e2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-148.031","next":"us-ky/krs-148.034"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
