{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-148.161","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 148.161","heading":"Civil War cemeteries, maintenance, acquisition by department --","body":"Expenditures limited.\n(1) Upon the request of the public body or private entity owning or controlling a Civil\nWar cemetery, the Department of Parks may, as to a cemetery other than those\nmentioned in subsection (2) of this section, maintain a cemetery in an appropriate\nmanner and may take title in the name of the Commonwealth to such cemetery by a\ndeed of conveyance, subject to the appropriate sections of KRS Chapters 45 and 56.\nAs used he rein, the term, \"Civil War cemetery\" means a cemetery, or separate part\nof a cemetery, in which twenty -five (25) or more soldiers who fought in the war\nbetween the states are interred.\n(2) The Department of Parks shall maintain or take title to any of the following\ncemeteries upon formal request of the owning or controlling entity:\nPewee Valley Confederate Cemetery, Oldham County.\nGoodnight Farm Confederate Cemetery, Boyle County.\nZollicoffer Park Confederate Cemetery, Pulaski County.\nCamp Beauregard Cemetery, Graves County.\n(3) Expenditures by the Department of Parks for the purposes of this section shall not\nexceed twelve hundred dollars ($1,200) annually.","path":["KRS Chapter 148"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1719","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:40Z","sha256":"403bf572e7b16495b0ef896d9af79c3472bf7336ecbc60a97b275da718b7ca8e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-148.160","next":"us-ky/krs-148.163"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
