{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-148.290","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 148.290","heading":"Policing of Kentucky Horse Park -- Speed limits.","body":"(1) The commission may enter into agreements with the law enforcement agency of\nany urban-county or counties in which the Kentucky Horse Park is located or in any\nadjacent county or with the Department of Kentucky State Police for proper\npolicing of the Kentucky Horse Park. If authorized to do so by the commission and\nsubject to KRS 61.300, the president may commission employees of the park as\npatrol officers. These patrol officers shall have all the powers of peace officers upon\nthe property of the Kentucky Ho rse Park and the public property and roads\ntraversing or immediately adjacent thereto.\n(2) The commission is authorized to establish by resolution speed limits governing the\noperation of motor vehicles on horse park property. Notice to the public of such\nspeed limits shall be posted by signs or markings.\n(3) The commission may by administrative regulation establish restrictions on the use,\nincluding the operation, parking, impoundment, and removal, of golf cart -type\nvehicles, all -terrain vehicles as defined  by KRS 189.010(24), horse trailers, and\nautomobiles operated on Kentucky Horse Park property. The commission may\nprohibit the use of all-terrain vehicles on Kentucky Horse Park property.\n(4) The commission may by administrative regulation establish a perm it system,\nincluding a fee schedule, for golf cart -type vehicles, require owners to purchase\nusage permits, and require that the usage permit be displayed on the vehicle when\noperated on Kentucky Horse Park property.\n(5) The commission may by administrativ e regulation establish a trailer permit system,\nincluding a fee schedule, for horse owners participating in events but not renting\nstalls at the Kentucky Horse Park.","path":["KRS Chapter 148"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54004","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:41Z","sha256":"693379cb266c4c21f5590f95f2465b931f57228e0b5195e291eaede2ae15d988","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-148.285","next":"us-ky/krs-148.300"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
