{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-149.280","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 149.280","heading":"Forestry management under cooperative agreements -- Payment of cost of","body":"services -- Use of proceeds.\n(1) The secretary for energy and environment, or his authorized agent, may, upon\nrequest, and whenever he deems it essential to the best interests of t he people of the\nCommonwealth, cooperate with counties, cities, corporations, institutions or\nindividuals in preparing plans for the protection, management and replacement of\ntrees, woodlands and timber tracts, under an agreement that the parties obtaining\nsuch assistance pay at least the field expenses of the men employed in preparing\nsaid plans. Services rendered under this cooperative plan may include the\ndesignation of trees for sale or removal, measuring or estimating the commercial\nvolume contained in  the trees designated, marketing advice, and general forestry\nadvice concerning the management of the landowner's forest.\n(2) When services are rendered under this section, the landowner or his agent, upon\npresentation of a statement, shall pay to the Ener gy and Environment Cabinet,\nwithin thirty (30) days of receipt of the statement, the amount due. The amounts so\ncollected by the Energy and Environment Cabinet shall be paid into the State\nTreasury and shall be credited to a special fund for forest managem ent and\nmarketing, and, with such other funds as may be appropriated by the General\nAssembly, or contributed by the United States or any governmental or private\nagency for such purposes, shall be used and disbursed by the Energy and\nEnvironment Cabinet for such purpose.","path":["KRS Chapter 149"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1870","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:42Z","sha256":"58d0e6874e2a2e9c3c67c6f27ca8cc40128ccaee523d1e859aa4be7848efb291","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-149.270","next":"us-ky/krs-149.290"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
