{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-149.336","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 149.336","heading":"Information and education program.","body":"(1) There is established within the division an information and education program for\nthe following purposes:\n(a) To develop public awareness of the importance of the forests of Kentucky;\n(b) To promote forest stewardship and sound forest utilization practices of private\nwoodland owners and the forest industry; and\n(c) To coordinate with other agencies and organizations to assure effective, long -\nterm forest conservation programs.\n(2) The division shall implement an educational program that emphasizes sustainabl e\nforests and the full range of economic, ecological, and social opportunities provided\nby privately owned forests by:\n(a) Sponsoring field days that enable individual woodland owners to recognize\nand resolve problems that they encounter in dealing with th eir woodland\nresources;\n(b) Developing demonstration programs involving forests and management of\nforest ecosystems including urban forests;\n(c) Developing and implementing programs that give special attention to\neducational needs of small, private, nonindustrial forest landowners; and\n(d) Supporting the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service in promoting and\nconducting technology transfer education programs specifically for woodland\nowners.","path":["KRS Chapter 149"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1881","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:42Z","sha256":"7aaff216999b0ca9e372eb155c4169ce94d2b369335dcc40f66f6d6d3c759fa2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-149.334","next":"us-ky/krs-149.338"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
