{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-14a.1-040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 14A.1-040","heading":"Interrogatories by Secretary of State.","body":"(1) The Secretary of State may propound to any entity or foreign entity that the\nSecretary of State has reason to believe is subject of the provisions of this chapter,\nand to any authorized representative thereof including a registered agent, such\nwritten inte rrogatories as may be necessary and proper to enable the Secretary of\nState to ascertain whether the entity or foreign entity is subject to the provisions of\nthis chapter applicable to it and is in compliance therewith. The interrogatories shall\nbe answere d within thirty (30) days after the mailing thereof, or within such\nadditional time as may be fixed by the Secretary of State, and the answers thereto\nshall be full and complete and shall be made in writing and under oath.\nInterrogatories directed to an in dividual shall be answered by the individual.\nInterrogatories directed to an entity or a foreign entity shall be answered by a person\nwith the authority, pursuant to the organic law governing the entity or foreign entity,\nto bind the entity or foreign entity.\n(2) The Secretary of State may take such action as is deemed appropriate, including a\nreferral to the Attorney General, when the interrogatories and the answers thereto\ndisclose a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter or of the organic law\ngoverning an entity or foreign entity.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=36515","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:32Z","sha256":"7f8d30df59fbb48cdf6f230a30f24959b00a5a788b629689a97dcb7766da623a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-14a.1-030","next":"us-ky/krs-14a.1-050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
