{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-14a.9-050","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 14A.9-050","heading":"Effect of certificate of authority.","body":"(1) A certificate of authority shall authorize the foreign entity to which it is issued the\nauthority to transact business in this Commonwealth subject, however, to the right\nof the Commonwealth to revoke the certificate as provided in this chapter.\n(2) A fore ign entity with a valid certificate of authority shall have the same but no\ngreater rights and shall have the same but no greater privileges as, and except as\notherwise provided by this chapter shall be subject to the same duties, restrictions,\npenalties, and liabilities now or later imposed on, a domestic entity of like character.\n(3) This chapter shall not authorize this Commonwealth to regulate the organization or\ninternal affairs, including the inspection of books, records, and documents, of a\nforeign entity transacting business in this Commonwealth.\n(4) Nothing in this section shall be interpreted or construed to limit the capacity and\nauthority of a professional regulatory board to regulate the terms and manner by\nwhich professional services are render ed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky\nthrough or on behalf of a foreign entity.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42378","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:32Z","sha256":"a9933ccfdc9778c9c0a55050addcaa0e47254735cb9351a5992aafa01849b6ba","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-14a.9-040","next":"us-ky/krs-14a.9-060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
