{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.111","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.111","heading":"Office of Administrative Hearings.","body":"(1) The Office of Administrative Hearings is created within the Department of Law.\n(2) This office shall have the following responsibilities:\n(a) Employing and maintaining a pool of hearing officers for assignment to the\nindividual agencies at their request, for the conduct of administrative hearings.\nThe Attorney General's office may also employ other staff as necessary to\ncarry out functions and responsibilities assigned by KRS Chapter 13B;\n(b) Reviewing and approving or disapproving requests from agencies fo r waivers\nfrom provisions of KRS Chapter 13B;\n(c) Providing training in administrative hearing procedures for hearing officers as\nrequired in KRS 13B.030, either by developing and offering the training, or\nby contracting with appropriate organizations for the provision of training, or\nby approving training developed and submitted by the agencies;\n(d) Consulting with the Personnel Cabinet and employing agencies in the\nestablishment of relevant and appropriate qualifications for classes of hearing\nofficers;\n(e) Reporting to the Legislative Research Commission by July 1 of each odd -\nnumbered year, the status of the administrative hearing process in Kentucky.\nThe report shall include a compilation of statistical data and other information\nnecessary to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of hearing procedures and\nrecommendations for making improvements to the system. Agencies shall\nprovide the information requested by the Office of Administrative Hearings\nnecessary to complete the report;\n(f) Reporting to the C abinet for Health and Family Services, Office of Inspector\nGeneral, for review and investigation:\n1. Any charge or case against any employee of the Cabinet for Health and\nFamily Services where it has cause to believe the employee has engaged\nin dishonest, unethical, or illegal conduct or practices related to his or\nher job duties; or\n2. Any violation of state law or administrative regulatio n by any\norganization or individual regulated by, or contracted with, the Cabinet\nfor Health and Family Services; and\n(g) Conducting and providing oversight of administrative hearings as it relates to\nthe Cabinet for Health and Family Services.","path":["KRS Chapter 15"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56562","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:32Z","sha256":"1a07bf2e68fe35633faf0c9abe0c1ef7c66dcab31f292babb3dbf8484f7dfaa5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15.110","next":"us-ky/krs-15.112"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
