{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.257","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.257","heading":"Requirements for distribution of explanatory materials -- Open Records","body":"and Open Meetings laws -- Retention and management of public records.\n(1) The Office of the Attorney General shall, within ninety (90) days of June 20, 2005,\nand thereafter , within ninety (90) days of the effective date of any legislation\namending the provisions of the Open Meetings Act or the Open Records Act,\ndistribute to all county judge/executives, mayors, county attorneys, city attorneys,\nsuperintendents of public scho ol districts, presidents of each of the state public\npostsecondary education institutions identified in KRS 161.220(4)(b) or 164.001,\nand attorneys of public school districts and public postsecondary education\ninstitutions throughout Kentucky written infor mation prepared by the Office of the\nAttorney General that explains the procedural and substantive provisions of the\nOpen Meetings Act, KRS 61.805 to 61.850, and the Open Records Act, KRS\n61.870 to 61.884, together with the information required by KRS 171. 223 to be\nprepared by the Department for Libraries and Archives concerning proper retention\nand management of public records. This distribution may be by electronic means.\n(2) All superintendents of public school districts and the presidents of each of the  state\npublic postsecondary education institutions identified in KRS 161.220(4)(b) or\n164.001 shall be responsible for designating and submitting the names and\naddresses of the attorneys to whom this information shall be disseminated to the\nOffice of the Attorney General.","path":["KRS Chapter 15"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57999","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:33Z","sha256":"93573d5792b58b2ccf796db87d9d3ae8d4303896ac0d37c339024526cca1d53e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15.255","next":"us-ky/krs-15.260"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
