{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.266","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.266","heading":"Kentucky Office of Regulatory Relief -- Director -- Powers and duties.","body":"(1) The Kentucky Office of Regulatory Relief is hereby created within the Office of the\nAttorney General.\n(2) (a) There shall be a director within the regulatory relief  office responsible for\nadministering KRS 15.262 to 15.278. The director shall be appointed by the\nAttorney General.\n(b) The director shall review all applications for admission to the regulatory\nsandbox. The director shall report to the Attorney General a nd may appoint\nstaff subject to the approval of the Attorney General.\n(3) The regulatory relief office shall:\n(a) Administer the regulatory sandbox established in KRS 15.268;\n(b) Establish a program to enable a person to obtain legal protections and limite d\naccess to the market in the state to demonstrate an innovative offering without\nobtaining a license or other authorization that might otherwise be required;\n(c) Establish an application fee not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) for\nadmission to the regulatory sandbox;\n(d) Act as a liaison between private businesses and applicable agencies to identify\nadministrative regulations that may be waived or suspended under the\nregulatory sandbox;\n(e) Consult with each applicable agency; and\n(f) Administer the provisions of KRS 15.262 to 15.278.\n(4) The regulatory relief office may:\n(a) Review administrative regulations that may unnecessarily inhibit the creation\nand success of new companies or industri es, and provide recommendations to\nthe Governor and the General Assembly on modifying those administrative\nregulations;\n(b) Create a framework for analyzing the risk level to the health, safety, and\nfinancial well -being of consumers related to permanently removing or\ntemporarily suspending administrative regulations that inhibit the creation or\nsuccess of new and existing companies or industries;\n(c) Propose potential reciprocity agreements between states that use or may\npropose to use similar regulatory sa ndbox programs as described in KRS\n15.268;\n(d) Enter into agreements with or adopt the best practices of corresponding\nfederal regulatory agencies or other states that may administer similar\nprograms;\n(e) Consult with businesses in the state about existing  or potential proposals for\nthe regulatory sandbox; and\n(f) Promulgate administrative regulations concerning:\n1. Administering the regulatory sandbox;\n2. The application process;\n3. Reporting requirements of sandbox participants; and\n4.
