{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.552","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.552","heading":"Public Safety Telecommunicator Work Group -- Duties -- Meetings --","body":"Sunset -- Members -- Development of new training delivery format -- Part-\ntime telecommunicator training.\n(1) The Public Safety Telecommunicator Work Group is hereby establi shed as an\nindependent entity to develop a new delivery format for the public safety\ntelecommunicator academy which will incorporate in -person and online training\ncomponents. The work group shall meet as necessary and submit to the Kentucky\nLaw Enforcement Council within one (1) year of July 15, 2024, a training delivery\nformat that shall be developed and unanimously agreed upon by the work group.\nThe work group shall cease to exist after the developed training delivery format is\nsubmitted to the Kentucky L aw Enforcement Council for approval unless the\ncouncil directs its continuance. The members of the work group shall not be paid or\nreimbursed for travel or other expenses. The work group shall consist of at least one\n(1) member of the following entities:\n(a) Department of Criminal Justice Training;\n(b) Kentucky Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association; and\n(c) Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.\n(2) The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council shall, upon approval, implement the new\ntraining delivery format developed under subsection (1) of this section for the\npublic safety telecommunicator academy on July 1, 2026.\n(3) All part -time telecommunicators shall successfully complete the forty (40) hour\nonline course, \"telecommunicator overview training.\"\n(4) A part -time telecommunicator who successfully completes the forty (40) hour\ntelecommunicator overview training course and moves to a full -time\ntelecommunicator position shall be credited forty (40) hours toward the training\nrequirements of the full-time public safety telecommunicator academy.","path":["KRS Chapter 15"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56166","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:34Z","sha256":"953b391f8b77ada1efddfeafd37313e8b04e661ef410baf2407e9cc46ef2deec","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15.550","next":"us-ky/krs-15.560"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
