{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.605","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.605","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in KRS 15.610 to 15.635 unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Inspection\" means any regular, on-site investigation periodically conducted, or any\nrequest for information periodically solicited in lieu of an on -site investigation, by\nor on behalf of any public agency for the purpose of determining whether to award,\nrenew, alter, suspend or revoke a license, permit, accreditation or rating of a public\nor private organization, or of any property employed by a public or private\norganization in co nducting its business, in the Commonwealth. The term shall not\ninclude inspections conducted by or on behalf of an urban -county department of\nhealth or special investigations conducted by law enforcement officers or grand\njuries, or, upon specific complain t, by public agencies with competent jurisdiction\nof the subject matter of the complaint, or by members of legislative bodies.\n(2) \"Duplicative inspection\" or \"an inspection that duplicates\" means one of two or\nmore inspections that are conducted at different times during the same calendar year\nand that inquire into the same condition of the premises of, or business conducted\nby, the same public or private organization.\n(3) \"Inspecting agency\" means any agency of the state government or of a political\nsubdivision of the state, other than an urban -county department of health, that\nconducts inspections within the Commonwealth.\n(4) \"Conflicting standard\" or \"a standard that conflicts\" means one of two or more\nstandards relating to the quality of a public or private organization, or of the\nbusiness conducted by such organization, or of property used by such organization\nin conducting its business, that are employed in the same inspection or in\nduplicative inspections and which cannot be met simultaneously.","path":["KRS Chapter 15"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=976","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:34Z","sha256":"8e0742867b02039db4bb5492aa9b8ba9c50ce080e2d4ed1ed8517ffa45beb7bf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15.590","next":"us-ky/krs-15.610"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
