{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.750","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.750","heading":"Budget -- Payment of office expenses -- Purchase of liability insurance.","body":"(1) Each Commonwealth's attorney and each county attorney shall submit a proposed\nbudget for his office to the Prosecutors Advisory Council to be included in the total\nbudget of the unified prosecutorial system and submitted as part of the budget of the\nOffice of the Attorney General in accordance with KRS Chapter 48. Nothing\ncontained herein shall be construed as limiting, restricting, or terminating the\nauthority of local governmental units, including cities, counties, and urban counties,\nto provide financial support for the office of any prosecutor.\n(2) Office expenses incurred by the Commonwealth's attorney in the performance of his\nduties, as required by the Kentucky Revised Statutes, shall be paid by the\nCommonwealth.\n(3) Office expenses incurred by the c ounty attorney in the performance of his duties as\ncriminal prosecutor shall be paid by the Commonwealth.\n(4) Office expenses incurred by the county attorney in the performance of his duties as\nlegal adviser to the county shall be paid by the fiscal court or by the urban -county\ncouncil as required by the Kentucky Revised Statutes.\n(5) The Prosecutors Advisory Council, under such terms and conditions as it deems\nappropriate, may purchase or authorize the purchase of liability insurance on behalf\nof county at torneys, Commonwealth's attorneys, and their employees to protect\nthem from malpractice or otherwise, arising in the course or scope of their official\nduties.
