{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15.757","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15.757","heading":"Procedure for voluntarily changing status from part -time to full -time","body":"Commonwealth's attorney.\n(1) (a) Any part-time Commonwealth's attorney may voluntarily become a full -time\nCommonwealth's attorney effective January 1, 1997, or at the beginning of\nany subsequent budget cycle by:\n1. Not engaging in the private practice of law after the time he becomes a\nfull-time Commonwealth's attorney; and\n2. By giving written notice to the Prosecutors Advisory Council not less\nthan ninety (90) days prior to the begi nning of the budget cycle at which\nhe is to become a full-time Commonwealth's attorney, of his intention to\ndo so.\n(b) The Prosecutors Advisory Council shall review all requests from part -time\nCommonwealth's attorneys and shall approve such requests based on available\nfunds, population, caseload data, and other relevant information.\n(2) A circuit which has been authorized to have a full -time Commonwealth's attorney\nshall not revert to part-time status for that position.","path":["KRS Chapter 15"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1005","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:34Z","sha256":"f27be2c944b64ef4a9645a110abfb86fbd568882e81b2eeab7c9eba8bb410de1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15.755","next":"us-ky/krs-15.760"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
