The  secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services or\ndesignee;\n2. The secretary of the Education and Labor Cabinet or designee;\n3. The secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet or designee;\n4. The  commissioner of the Department of Kentucky State Police or\ndesignee; and\n5. The Attorney General or designee;\n(b) Eight (8) public members  from each of the following organizations:\n1. The  executive director of the Kentucky Youth  Advocates  or\ndesignee;\n2. The  executive director of the Prevent Child Abuse  Kentucky or\ndesignee;\n3. The  state director of the Kentucky Court Appointed Special\nAdvocates Network, Inc. or designee;\n4. The  executive director of the Children's Advocacy  Centers of\nKentucky or designee;\n5. The president of the Children's Alliance or designee;\n6. The  executive director of the Kentucky Chapter of the American\nAcademy  of Pediatrics or designee;\n7. The  executive director of the Kentucky Association of Regional\nPrograms or designee; and\n8. The  director of the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts or\ndesignee; and\n(c) Two  (2) nonvoting liaisons who are members  of the General Assembly,\none  (1) of whom  shall be a member  of the House of Representatives\nappointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and one (1) of\nwhom  shall be a member  of the Senate appointed by the President of the\nSenate.\n(2) The Attorney General shall serve as chairperson or designate a chairperson of\nthe state board in which case the chairperson shall serve in that position at the\npleasure of the Attorney General. The state board may elect other officers and\ncommittees as it considers appropriate.\n(3) There  shall be  no  per diem  compensation; however, the schedule for\nreimbursement of expenses for the public members  of the state board shall be\nthe same as for state employees. The reimbursement, executive director and\nstaff salaries, and all actual and necessary operating expenses of the state\nboard  shall be paid from the trust fund, pursuant to an authorization as\nprovided in KRS 15.935.\n(4) A  majority of the entire membership of the state board, excluding nonvoting\nliaison members, shall constitute a quorum, and all actions of the state board\nshall be by vote of a majority of its entire membership, excluding nonvoting\nliaison members.","path":["KRS Chapter 15"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52090","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:35Z","sha256":"629ecfe5bdd2a877a3c8e9f09d7961db8a9578d580137c9692366a57f2349afe","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15.905","next":"us-ky/krs-15.915"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
