{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-150.4112","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 150.4112","heading":"Administrative regulations to allow resident nonprofit 501(c)(3)","body":"institution to sell donated mounted wildlife specimen.\n(1) As used in this section, \"mounted wildlife specimen\" means:\n(a) A legally taken animal, including the skin of the head, cape, or the entire skin,\nmounted in a lifelike representation of the animal or any part thereof; or\n(b) A European mount in which the horns or antlers and the skull or a portion of\nthe skull are mounted for display.\n(2) Notwithstanding KRS 150.180 and no late r than January 1, 2014, the department\nshall promulgate administrative regulations to allow a resident nonprofit charitable,\nreligious, or educational institution which has qualified for exemption from income\ntaxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Interna l Revenue Code to sell mounted\nwildlife specimens, except as prohibited by federal law, that have been donated to\nthat institution.\n(3) The administrative regulations promulgated under this section shall establish a\nmeans by which each transaction for the sale of donated mounted wildlife\nspecimens for white -tailed deer, elk, bears, turkeys, and bobcats allowed under\nsubsection (2) of this section shall be recorded by the department. The department\nshall make the recording of each transaction as reasonably c onvenient for all parties\nto the transaction as possible, which may include but not be limited to allowing\ntelephone and Internet recording of sales.\n(4) Licensed taxidermists subject to the reporting requirements under KRS 150.4111\nshall be exempt from the requirements of subsection (3) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 150"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41808","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:44Z","sha256":"23f6cc5bc9f59680fa94bfad53a26ce3270a587c2ccea9c1c4a270ef90bd04dd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-150.4111","next":"us-ky/krs-150.4113"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
