{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-150.4113","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 150.4113","heading":"Administrative regulations to allow sale and purchase of mounted wildlife","body":"specimens -- Recording of sales.\n(1) As used in this section, \"mounted wildlife specimen\" means:\n(a) A legally taken animal, including the skin of the head, cape, or the enti re skin,\nmounted in a lifelike representation of the animal or any part thereof; or\n(b) A European mount in which the horns or antlers and the skull or a portion of\nthe skull are mounted for display.\n(2) Notwithstanding KRS 150.180 and no later than Januar y 1, 2014, the department\nshall promulgate administrative regulations to allow any person or entity to sell or\nbuy mounted wildlife specimens, except as prohibited by federal law.\n(3) The administrative regulations promulgated under this section shall esta blish a\nmeans by which each transaction for the sale of mounted wildlife specimens for\nwhite-tailed deer, elk, bears, turkeys, and bobcats shall be recorded by the\ndepartment. The department shall make the recording of each transaction as\nreasonably conven ient for all parties to the transaction as possible, which may\ninclude but not be limited to allowing telephone and Internet recording of sales.\n(4) Mounted wildlife specimens purchased from or sold to a licensed taxidermist under\nKRS 150.4111 shall be exempt from the requirements of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 150"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42349","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:44Z","sha256":"1b48cbc373889ad48df38078068ca44d74f03acafc395f6b694a1bc3c83cf0fd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-150.4112","next":"us-ky/krs-150.412"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
