{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-150.425","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 150.425","heading":"Bounty on beaver.","body":"(1) Upon adoption of a resolution by the fiscal court that beaver exist within the county\nin such quantities that they present a threat to the preservation of farmland, trees,\nand other property, the fiscal court may request the department to pay a bounty on\nbeaver. Upon receipt of the resolution, a bounty on beaver of ten dollars ($10) for\neach beaver shall be paid in the following manner. Upon the presentation of the tail\nof any beaver, any game warden of the department shall issue a receipt, in the form\nas prescribed by the commission, to the person presenting the tail. The department\nshall redeem the receipts by paying to such person the sum of ten dollars ($10) for\neach receipt as bounty. The redemption of receipts shall be paid only from funds\nespecially appropriated for this purpose and it is expressly provided that no bounty\nshall be paid from any regular receipts, funds, or appropriations of the department.\nHowever, the department may charge a maximum of one dollar ($1) against the\nappropriation for bounties for each bounty paid as reimbursement for the expense of\nadministering the bounty program.\n(2) No bounty shall be paid when funds, personnel, or equipment of any governmental\nunit are used in capturing and killing beaver.\n(3) Upon receipt of an adopte d resolution from a fiscal court stating that beaver no\nlonger present a threat to property within the county, the department shall cease\npaying the bounty.","path":["KRS Chapter 150"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55368","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:44Z","sha256":"110dda4b542949d7fa64543335e6c7f3c1cac5fbe8d7fd98b3744b5feaa3efd9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-150.420","next":"us-ky/krs-150.430"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
