{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-151.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 151.550","heading":"Community Flood Damage Abatement Program.","body":"(1) There is hereby created a Community Flood Damage Abatement Program within the\nEnergy and Environment Cabinet.\n(2) It is hereby declared to be the purpose of the program to provide funds and technical\nassistance to local governments to initiate flood control projects and programs.\n(3) This program shall be administered by the secretary according to standards designed\nto promote adequate planning, construction and conservation measures to deal with\nwater drainage problems.\n(4) Any local sponsoring community desiring to qualify for funding, must:\n(a) Make application to the cabinet which shall be in the form and manner\nprescribed by the cabinet;\n(b) Provide at no expense to the cabinet, all lands and easements necessary for\nproject construction;\n(c) Agree to op erate and maintain the project in a manner acceptable to the\nCommonwealth to insure the continued capacity of the project to prevent or\nminimize flood damages;\n(d) Submit evidence of the history of flooding within the last five (5) years;\n(e) Submit evidence of flood damage in dollars within the last five (5) years.\n(5) The cabinet shall have and exercise the power and authority to annually inspect the\ncompleted project to insure compliance with any of the provisions of this section or\nwith any rules, regul ations or orders adopted pursuant thereto, or with any of the\nconditions contained in subsection (4)(c) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 151"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=2128","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:45Z","sha256":"7ea91454385d0967a563549721134ed0f678e349d34ccb56fb14b8f29ac0024d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-151.460","next":"us-ky/krs-151.560"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
