{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-151b.019","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 151B.019","heading":"Cabinet -- Purpose -- Duties.","body":"(1) The Education and Labor Cabinet shall exercise all administrative functions of\nthe state concerned with employer-employee relationships, including the safety\nof workers and workers' compensation.\n(2) The cabinet shall:\n(a) Promote  friendly and  cooperative relations between  employers and\nemployees;\n(b) Accumulate and publish industrial statistics and aid and encourage the\ndevelopment of new industries and the expansion of existing industries in\nKentucky;\n(c) Encourage, promote, and develop fair practices, both by employers and\nemployees; discourage and eliminate as far as practicable all unfair\npractices by employers or employees; and enforce laws relating to unfair\npractices;\n(d) Foster, promote, and develop the welfare of both wage  earners and\nindustries in Kentucky;\n(e) Improve working and living conditions of employees, and advance their\nopportunities for profitable employment; and\n(f) Inquire into the causes of accidental injuries and occupational diseases\narising out of and in the course of employment, and advance measures\nfor the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases and for the\nimprovement of sanitary conditions in places of employment.","path":["KRS Chapter 151B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52314","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:46Z","sha256":"9b2c18f2fcef9ff865a3e91b374c73788cce7c1a2542fd8f8a124f2e3a9005dd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-151b.017","next":"us-ky/krs-151b.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
