{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-151b.132","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 151B.132","heading":"Office of the Kentucky Center for Statistics -- Purpose -- Kentucky","body":"Longitudinal Data System -- Collection of education and workforce data --\nCertification and ownership of data -- Funding.\n(1) The  Office of the Kentucky Center for Statistics is hereby established and\nattached to the Education and Labor Cabinet, Office of the Secretary.\n(2) The  office's purpose is to collect accurate data in the Kentucky Longitudinal\nData System in order to link the data and generate timely reports about student\nperformance through employment  to be used to guide decision makers in\nimproving the Commonwealth  of Kentucky's education system and training\nprograms.\n(3) The office shall be headed by an executive director appointed by the Governor\npursuant to KRS  12.050. The executive director shall be appointed from\nnominations made  to the Governor by the board. The office may  employ\nadditional staff necessary to carry out the office's duties consistent with\navailable funding and state personnel laws.\n(4) The public agencies providing data to the Kentucky Longitudinal Data System\nshall be:\n(a) The Council on Postsecondary Education;\n(b) The Department of Education;\n(c) The Early Childhood Advisory Council;\n(d) The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority;\n(e) The Kentucky Commission on Proprietary Education; and\n(f) Other agencies of the Education and Labor Cabinet.\n(5) The  Kentucky Longitudinal Data System, upon approval of the board, may\ninclude data from any additional public agency.\n(6) Any private institution of higher education, private school, or parochial school,\nupon  approval of the board, may  provide data to the Kentucky Longitudinal\nData System.\n(7) Any data provided to the Kentucky Longitudinal Data System shall be certified\nto be accurate by the providing agency, institution, or school. Ownership of\ndata provided shall be retained by the providing entity.\n(8) The  office may receive funding for its operation of the Kentucky Longitudinal\nData System from the following sources:\n(a) State appropriations;\n(b) Federal grants;\n(c) User fees; and\n(d) Any other grants or contributions from public agencies or other entities.","path":["KRS Chapter 151B"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=52341","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:46Z","sha256":"55f43bb46b7d5a843ec9611c29b544986016edf48f4e16d9186682b271cd608d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-151b.131","next":"us-ky/krs-151b.133"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
