{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.1-720","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.1-720","heading":"Kentucky Peace Corps -- Purpose -- Director.","body":"(1) A Kentucky Peace Corps, headed by a director appointed by the board created by\nKRS 154.1-705, is hereby created.\n(2) The purpose of the corps is to:\n(a) Create a volunteer, domestic service corps to promote a mechanism for\nselfless service for those who wi sh to improve the lives of other Kentuckians,\nraise the standard of living, enhance self actualization, and create a more\nconducive environment for future generations of Kentuckians.\n(b) Assist the Commonwealth of Kentucky through targeted activities which\npromote the public good and achieve measurable or visible improvement in\nthe environment, public service, individual productivity, education, health,\nand humanitarian endeavors.\n(c) Identify and utilize the skills, knowledge, and expertise of dedicated, w ell-\ntrained volunteers who have met stringent selection criteria and have\neffectively demonstrated their commitment to the Kentucky Peace Corps.\n(d) Promote a cross-fertilization of ideas, skills, and concepts.\n(3) The director, authorized by subsection (1 ) of this section, shall be a graduate of an\naccredited college or university and have at least five (5) years' experience in\nadministration or in related fields. Additional education may be substituted for the\nrequired experience on a year -to-year basis.
