{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.12-223","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.12-223","heading":"Department for Business and Community Development.","body":"(1) There is created within the Cabinet for Economic Development the Department for Business and Community Development, which shall be headed by a commissioner appointed by the Governor. The department shall work with each Kentucky county and community in:\n(a) Providing customer service and project management with new and existing industries;\n(b) Overseeing programs and initiatives designed to support new investment, job creation, and retention across the state;\n(c) Providing sufficient technical resources to c reate and maintain a database to facilitate sales transactions between Kentucky businesses;\n(d) Administering activities related to business site selection; and\n(e) Collaborating with community partners and other agencies on workforce and economic development opportunities.\n(2) The department shall include the following divisions, each of which shall be headed by a director appointed by the secretary pursuant to KRS 12.050:\n(a) The Development and Retention Division – West Kentucky;\n(b) The Development, Retention, and Administrative Division – Central and East Kentucky; and\n(c) The Community and Workforce Development Division.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53834","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:52Z","sha256":"6d4e305f6078006d2b5b9eff1c60165d2fb7971d3b8fc8233566b66bed4e578d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.12-222","next":"us-ky/krs-154.12-224"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
