{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.12-300","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.12-300","heading":"Definitions for KRS 154.12-300 to 154.12-310.","body":"As used in KRS 154.12-300 to 154.12-310, unless the context indicates otherwise:\n(1) \"Early-stage company\" means a company that is:\n(a) A small or medium-size company in its initial stages of operation;\n(b) Characterized by new or evolving product or service development; and\n(c) Establishing initial customer or market validation with potential material\ngrowth in employment or revenue;\n(2) \"Entrepreneur-led economic development\" means a strategy in which successful\nentrepreneurs contribute to regional growth  by mentoring new founders,\nstrengthening local support networks, and helping guide collaborative efforts that\nfoster the development and scaling of innovative early -stage and high -growth\ncompanies;\n(3) \"Executive director\" means the executive director of the Office of Entrepreneurship\nand Innovation;\n(4) \"High-growth company\" means a company that is:\n(a) A small or medium-size company; and\n(b) Demonstrating or has demonstrated potential for rapid and sustained\nexpansion in employment, revenue, or market share with potential for\ncontinued material growth;\n(5) \"Hub\" means a location identified as the headquarters for program activity in a\nregion or subregion;\n(6) \"Medium-size company\" means a business with fifty -one (51) to one hundred fifty\n(150) employees;\n(7) \"Program\" means the Kentucky Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub Program;\n(8) \"Region\" means a geographic area of Kentucky designated as having a unique\ninnovation strategic plan by the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation; and\n(9) \"Small company\" means a business with fifty (50) or fewer employees.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57628","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:52Z","sha256":"d2c7c62362a67c495aee22f2aa7bdb9f525282ff96f973571291d21edbe4ccb5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.12-282","next":"us-ky/krs-154.12-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
