{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.14-040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.14-040","heading":"Standardized or regional grant application -- Cabinet to review","body":"applications monthly and provide final decision -- Compliance with match and\nreporting requirements -- Length of obligation -- Repercussion for\nnoncompliance.\n(1) (a) To participate in the GRANT Program, eligible grant applicants shall submit\neither a standardized or a regional grant application to the cabinet no later\nthan ninety (90) days from the eligible grant applicant's submission for a\nfederal grant offered or administered by a qualifying federal entity.\n(b) The cabinet shall review applications monthly. Each monthly review shall\ninclude all applications submitted but not yet reviewed by the first day of each\nmonth.\n(c) The cabinet shall provide a preliminary evaluation of each application\nsubmitted by the first day of the month within fourteen (14) calendar days of\nthe first day of the month. As part of the preliminary evaluation, the cabinet\nshall consider the applicant's eligibility and the application completeness\nwhen evaluated against the requirements of the federal grant.\n(d) The cabinet shall provide a final decision of approval or denial on the\napplication by the last day of the month in which the application was\npreliminarily reviewed. If an application is denied, t he cabinet may provide\nfeedback about any possible corrective action, in which case the applicant\nmay resubmit the application for reconsideration after taking the\nrecommended corrective action.\n(2) If a grant application is approved, the recipient shall c omply with any match and\nreporting requirements established by the cabinet to verify that the awarded funds\nwill be or have been expended on an eligible use.\n(3) The obligation of funds for an approved project shall not remain obligated longer\nthan twelve (12) months for that project. An approved project may receive a twelve\n(12) month extension of this deadline from the cabinet.\n(4) If the grant recipient fails to comply with subsection (2) of this section or uses the\nawarded funds for any purpose other th an an eligible use, the grant recipient shall\nforfeit and be liable to the cabinet for the full award amount.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56859","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:52Z","sha256":"a324f4ccfe5ddcb10c65083e93433a16e6124e2c96d0f337022fa5c45090a4f5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.14-030","next":"us-ky/krs-154.14-050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
