{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.21-040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.21-040","heading":"Scoring system.","body":"(1) In the administration of the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, the Kentucky\nAssociation for Economic Development, via a third-party independent site selection\nconsultant, shall develop a scoring system for the project and the project site\nproposed by each grant applicant based on the total projected return on investment,\nkey workforce characteristics, and the relative positive impact in the community.\n(2) The scoring system shall include:\n(a) A score in each category as specified in subsection (3) of this section; and\n(b) A total weighted score, which is the average of the scores in each category.\n(3) The scoring categories shall include but are not limited to:\n(a) Projected return on investment the project will yield, which includes an\nassessment of the:\n1. Likelihood of project completion at the applicant's proposed site, both\nwith the cabinet's funding and without;\n2. Projected gross economic impact of the proposed project on the\ncommunity;\n3. Projected number of jobs created by the proposed project  and\nsubsequent impact on the community; and\n4. A determination of the cost of the job based on the cost expended by the\ncabinet if it awards the requested grant amount to the applicant;\n(b) Key workforce characteristics, including an assessment of objective workforce\ndata for the community in which the project is located; and\n(c) Relative positive impact the project will have on the surrounding community.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53004","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:54Z","sha256":"320e201ec1649acb02448613a93f3b08c64f4bf47c2a3789d211a668b4748aab","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.21-035","next":"us-ky/krs-154.210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
