{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.33-510","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.33-510","heading":"Definitions for subchapter.","body":"As used in this subchapter, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Area\" or \"region\" means  the geographical area of Kentucky contained within\nthe Appalachian region as defined by the federal Appalachian Regional\nDevelopment Act of 1965, as amended;\n(2) \"Board\" means the executive board of Shaping Our Appalachian Region, Inc.,\na Kentucky nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation created and organized, as of June\n24, 2015, to advance and promote a resilient and diverse eastern Kentucky by\nproviding leadership, vision, and  collaborative partnerships to support\ninnovative regional practices and enhance public and private investments in\nareas such as job creation, entrepreneurship, tourism, education and lifelong\nlearning, health and wellness, arts and heritage, and sustainable agricultural\npractices and food systems;\n(3) \"Commissioner\"  means  the commissioner of the Department  for Local\nGovernment;\n(4) \"Commonwealth\"  means the Commonwealth  of Kentucky;\n(5) \"Executive director\" means the chief administrator of Shaping Our Appalachian\nRegion, Inc. having responsibility for its day-to-day operations, and possessing\nall duties, responsibilities, and authorities as specified by the board;\n(6) \"Fund\"  means  the Kentucky Appalachian regional development fund as\nprovided by KRS 154.33-550.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47034","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:56Z","sha256":"d516e56bbc4628485a9b7e4cc1207165080d9fb8130432fd710a66b72d46f9c2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.33-501","next":"us-ky/krs-154.33-515"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
