{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.35-010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.35-010","heading":"Definitions for subchapter.","body":"As used in this subchapter, unless the context indicates otherwise:\n(1) \"Beneficiary of an economic incentive package\" means any entity for which any\nassessment, incentive, inducement, or tax credit is issued or awarded pursuant to\nKRS 154.22-010 to 154.22 -070, KRS 154.24 -010 to 154.24 -150, KRS 154.26 -015\nto 154.26-100, and KRS 154.28-010 to 154.28-090;\n(2) \"Board\" means the governance board of the Kentucky Science and Technology\nCouncil, Inc.;\n(3) \"Cabinet\" means the Cabinet for Economic Development;\n(4) \"Center\" means either or both of the following as the context requires:\n(a) \"Basic research centers\" which means centers under contract with the\nUniversity of Kentucky and the University of Louisville; and\n(b) \"Applied research centers\" which means centers for applied research and\ntechnologies development;\n(5) \"Commonwealth\" means the Commonwealth of Kentucky;\n(6) \"Contracting university\" means any of the following that contract with the council\nto operate a center: the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, Eastern\nKentucky University, Western Kentucky University, Morehead State University,\nNorthern Kentucky University, Murray State University, and Kentucky State\nUniversity;\n(7) \"Council\" means the Kentucky Science and Technology Council, Inc.;\n(8) \"Fund\" means the Kentucky Research and Development Infrastructure fund created\nand established pursuant to KRS 154.35-040;\n(9) \"Infrastructure\" means the Kentucky Research and Development Infrastructure;\n(10) \"Personal protective equipment\" has the same meaning as in KRS 154.32-010;\n(11) \"Secretary\" means the secretary of the Cabinet for Economic Development; and\n(12) \"Vital medications\" has the same meaning as in KRS 154.32-010.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51562","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:56Z","sha256":"8f13dbc6ca8ac1ee4901249ff88a8d8f01563622f6cfb4de210c6b99a3f9bd5a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.345","next":"us-ky/krs-154.35-020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
