{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.35-020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.35-020","heading":"Kentucky Research and Development Infrastructure -- Location of","body":"research centers -- Integration of basic research centers and applied research\ncenters.\n(1) The Kentucky Science and Technology Council, Inc., is authorized to establish the\nKentucky Research and Development Infrastructure in accordance with guidelines\ndeveloped and adopted by the Cabinet for Economic Development and the council.\nThe infrastructure, subject to qualification by the contracting universities in\naccordance with agreements b etween the council and the universities, shall consist\nof up to two (2) basic research centers and up to six (6) applied research centers\nlocated as follows:\n(a) A basic research center under contract with the University of Kentucky;\n(b) A basic research center under contract with the University of Louisville;\n(c) An applied research center to serve the central Kentucky area under contract\nwith the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University;\n(d) An applied research center to serve the west centr al Kentucky area under\ncontract with the University of Louisville and Kentucky State University;\n(e) An applied research center to serve the eastern Kentucky area under contract\nwith Morehead State University;\n(f) An applied research center to serve the we stern Kentucky area under contract\nwith Western Kentucky University;\n(g) An applied research center to serve the far western Kentucky area under\ncontract with Murray State University; and\n(h) An applied research center to serve the northern Kentucky area u nder contract\nwith Northern Kentucky University.\n(2) The basic research centers under contract with the University of Kentucky and the\nUniversity of Louisville may be integrated with the applied research centers under\ncontract with those institutions.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=2905","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:56Z","sha256":"d4115190124470e9adff527bdb521c541839c68db9153e183cf71cc566406b0e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.35-010","next":"us-ky/krs-154.35-030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
